When I was growing my first company, First Research, from 1999 to 2007 I only sought fast-growth. Before I knew it, I had a company with 30 to 40 employees and multiple departments with their own VPs. Should I have grown First Research as fast as I did? Looking back, I would have done it differently and learned how to maintain a “Life-Growth” business by remaining small AND successful–but “shoulda, coulda, woulda.” Here is my two-cents on why “Fast Growth is No Cake Walk”…
